Tournament Spotlight: 2018 VC Mix in Japan

We are so excited to once again get the opportunity to sponsor 2018 VC Mix, a college tournament in Japan. We can’t believe how much this tournament has grown since we first came on board! 

VC is elated to work with Club Jr and the amazing people who put this event together. We are thankful for the opportunity to support international tournaments all over the world!  
 
We asked Club Jr. CEO Akihiko Yoshida a few questions before the tournament. 

What are you most excited about this tournament? 

It's a fun mixed tournament. Since this tournament is only for college players, anybody has a chance to win. Also, it's a great opportunity to meet players from other schools and make new friends. Lastly, this is the last college tournament of the year, so everybody will have fun at the party as well as while playing (it's a tradition to have a party at the end of the year in Japan)! 

What's the best part of this tournament? 

All the fields are located at one venue, so people can watch/cheer/heckle other teams. Also, the accommodation facility is adjacent to the fields so it's very convenient (it's also close to the Tokyo-Narita airport). College teams from outside of Japan are always more than welcome to join. 

What has it been like working with VC? 

It's been fantastic. We have been selling a ton of VC gear in Japan, the Worlds gear is the most popular. It's always great to co-host such a nice tournament. 

Anything else you'd like to add? 

The tournament is getting more popular every year. We might have to turn down bids in the future, but if we can get more fields, it has the potential to be one of the biggest tournaments in Japan, with over 1,000 athletes attending. We are excited for the future of this tournament.
